Was your driver's license suspended following a recent traffic violation? Were you pulled over and found to be driving without a license? You may soon be facing serious consequences, such as State Surcharges, a prolonged driver's license suspension, and even time behind bars. It may be in your best interest to contact Jack Byno & Associates, as our law firm may be able to seek you a temporary driver's license. This temporary license, which is also referred to as an Occupational Driver's License (ODL) and an Essential Need License, will allow you legal transportation to the places you need to be, if granted. If you are interested in learning more about DL suspension or obtaining a temporary driver's license, please complete our DL Suspension Contact Form.
Have you made the decision to seek a temporary driver's license with assistance from Jack Byno & Associates? After you have provided us with your driver's license number, your driver's license audit number, the last four digits of your SS number, and the names of counties you will be driving through with your temporary driver's license, we may attempt to seek you a temporary driver's license in the Justice of the Peace Court. We will do this at your DL Suspension Hearing, which will be held at the Justice Court. In many cases, and at the discretion of the presiding judge, you will not even have to appear at your hearing.
If our attorneys go to court on your behalf and successfully acquire you a temporary driver's license, it would be in your best interest to remember that your temporary license is restricted. It only allows you legal transportation to certain necessary locations, including school and work, and only at certain times of the day. Be careful to follow traffic law while holding a temporary driver's license, because if you are pulled over and issued a traffic violation, the law enforcement official who pulled you over may write you a Driving While License Invalid (DWLI) violation. DWLI may lead to serious penalties, including prolonged driver's license suspension, Court fines of up to $4,000, and even arrest.
If you have questions or concerns about temporary driver's licenses, the reasons behind your DL suspension or the legal services provided by the Law Office of Attorney Jack Byno, please fill out our DL Suspension Contact Form, pay a visit to our FAQ page, or give us a call at 817-685-0912.
