There may be a number of different reasons behind a Plano DL suspension. These can include Driving While Intoxicated (DWI), outstanding traffic tickets, neglected State Surcharges and No Insurance Convictions. The Texas Department of Public Safety may mail you a Notice of Suspension warning you of impending DL suspension. Jack Byno & Associates have been in practice since 1994 and, when retained, may be able to fight your Plano DL suspension in the Collin County JP Court. If your driver's license is no longer valid due to a suspension, there is a chance that we could seek you an Occupational Driver's License (ODL), also known as an Essential Need License. This is a temporary license and, if granted to you, would permit you to transport yourself to locations non-negotiable to everyday life, such as work and doctor appointments. For additional information on Plano DL Suspension, please complete our DL Suspension Contact Form.
Have you received a Notice of Suspension from the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) regarding the imminent suspension of your driver's license? If so, you may review your Texas Driving Record to gain a better understanding as to the reasons behind your DL suspension. These can include any pending Plano traffic violations you have hanging over your head. You should be aware, however, that you have only 20 days to request a hearing once you have received your DL Suspension Notice. For help fighting your Plano DL suspension at your scheduled suspension hearing, which will be held in the Collin County Justice Court, it may be in your best interest to contact Jack Byno & Associates. Our attorneys can help you navigate any necessary court proceedings, and in most cases can appear in court on your behalf.
If you are up against a DL suspension because of traffic violations you received in the City of Plano, or as a result of more serious incidents, such as DWI, consider a consultation with the Law Office of Attorney Jack Byno. We have previously sought clients facing DL suspension a temporary license known as an Occupational Driver's License (ODL). Sometimes referred to as an Essential Needs License, it will allow you legal transportation to places such as work, school functions and the doctor's office. If you do decide that it would be best for us to seek you an ODL, please be aware that before we can apply for an ODL on your behalf, you must provide us with particular information. This information may include your driver's license number, proof of auto insurance and a copy of your driving record. Keep in mind that ODL holders face certain restrictions, such as the locations to which they may drive themselves. When these restrictions are violated, you may be charged with Driving While License Invalid (DWLI), which can result in hefty Court fines, arrest, and extended Plano DL suspensions.
The DL suspension defense attorneys at Jack Byno & Associates are well-rehearsed in Texas traffic law and have previously defended clients in Plano looking to fight DL suspension. In the past we have successfully obtained Occupational Driver's Licenses for clients who have not been able to fight their DL suspensions in the Collin County Justice Court, and subsequently guided them through the period during which their regular license is suspended.
