If you were recently pulled over in the City of McKinney, and issued a traffic violation, you must respond to it before it becomes outstanding. In the case that you do not, and your ticket is now overdue, your driver's license may soon be suspended. Other reasons for McKinney DL suspension include DWI, failure to pay State Surcharges and driving without valid auto insurance. The Texas Department of Public Safety (Texas DPS) will notify you of this by mailing you a Notice of Suspension. If you have received this notice, consider getting in touch with the Law Office of Attorney Jack Byno. At your scheduled DL Suspension Hearing in the Collin County Justice of the Peace Court, our attorneys can attempt to obtain you a temporary driver's license known as an Occupational Driver's License (ODL), or an Essential Need License. If granted to you, an ODL would allow you transportation to school, work and other essential locations. For more information on McKinney DL Suspension, please fill out our DL Suspension Contact Form.
Perhaps the Texas Department of Public Safety has mailed you a Notice of Suspension over pending traffic violations issued to you in McKinney, Texas. This notice means that you have only 20 days to request a hearing with the Collin County Justice of the Peace Court. If you are uncertain about the reasons behind your McKinney DL suspension, it may be a good idea to review your Texas Driving Record, if you are uncertain as to the reasons DPS mailed you a Notice of Suspension. If you retain us as your lawyers, we may also request to look over your driving record, so that we are better prepared to defend you at your Driver's License Suspension Hearing, which will take place at the JP Court. You may not be required to appear with us at your suspension hearing.
Because your driver's license has been suspended as a result of outstanding traffic tickets or more serious violations, originally issued to you in McKinney, your case may be heard in the Justice Court. At your DL Suspension Hearing, our attorneys may be able to acquire you an Occupational Driver's License (ODL), which is a temporary license that may be referred to as an Essential Need License. In order for us to request an ODL for you, you will need to provide us with certain information, such as your driver's license number, a copy of your driving record, and proof of auto insurance. If our request is accepted and you are granted a temporary driver's license, keep in mind that you will face more restrictions while driving with an ODL. The temporary driver's license is meant to get you to essential locations such as work and school.
If you are up against a McKinney DL suspension and are now hoping to fight it, but believe that you would benefit from legal representation, why not get in touch with the Law Office of Attorney Jack Byno? Once retained, we may be able to fight your DL Suspension in the Collin County Justice of the Peace Court and attempt to get you a temporary driver's license.
