For over 20 years, the Law Office of Attorney Jack Byno has been defending against Kemp traffic violations and their ensuing repercussions, including DL suspension. If you have been mailed a Notice of Suspension by Texas DPS, and you are granted a DL suspension hearing by DPS, our law firm may be retained to dispute the looming suspension of your driver's license. Even if the reasons leading up to the suspension of your driver's license are minor, such as habitual traffic violations and unpaid State Surcharges, or more serious, such as Driving While Intoxicated (DWI), there may still be a chance for our law firm to get your looming suspension overruled. Has your driver's license already been suspended because you forgot to respond to a Notice of Suspension mailed to you by DPS, or because you have lost a Kemp DL suspension hearing in the Kaufman County Justice Court? Our law firm may be hired to seek you a temporary driver's license. For more information on how Jack Byno & Associates may be able to defend against the suspension of your driver's license, please fill out our DL Suspension Contact Form.
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) will mail you an informative Notice of Suspension if your driver's license is in danger of being suspended over traffic offenses you have committed in Kemp, Texas, or because of No Insurance convictions, drunk driving charges, medical revocation or unpaid State Surcharges. Have you been mailed a Kemp DL suspension notice by DPS? If so, be aware that you will have only 20 calendar days to request a DL suspension hearing with DPS upon receiving the notice. If a suspension hearing is granted to you, it will take place in the Kaufman County JP Court, which is where Jack Byno & Associates will challenge the suspension of your driver's license if hired to defend you. But perhaps it is too late for our defense attorneys to defend you in court, as your license has already been suspended. In this case, we may still seek you an Occupational Driver's License (ODL), which would serve as a temporary driver's license if granted to you.
In the past, our law firm has sought and successfully obtained Occupational Driver's Licenses (ODLs) for motorists up against DL suspension in Kemp, Texas, even though their DLs may have been suspended over serious traffic offenses committed, such as DWI. An ODL, often referred to as an Essential Need License, would allow you temporary, restricted access to the roads.
Before our law firm is able to seek an Occupational Driver's License on your behalf, we may first ask you to provide us with certain information, including your driver's license number, a copy of your Texas Driving Record and proof that you have car insurance. While it is possible for us to seek an ODL for clients whose regular DLs are no longer valid, it is up to our clients to obey any driving restrictions that come with their temporary DL if one is granted to them. Common ODL restrictions include locations you are allowed to drive to, such as work and the grocery store, and failure to carefully follow them may result in a Driving While License Invalid (DWLI) charge. We would advise our clients to avoid DWLI at all times, as penalties are severe and may include extended Kemp DL suspension, arrest and high court fines.
If you are worried that your driver's license will soon be suspended, or if the Department of Public Safety has mailed you a Notice of Suspension because of Kemp traffic violations on your driving record, consider seeking legal representation from the Law Office of Attorney Jack Byno. We have more than 20 years of experience disputing DL suspension in the Kaufman County JP Court, and may be hired to defend you at your scheduled hearing as well. Or, if your situation is more serious and your driver's license has already been suspended, our law firm can attempt to apply you for an Occupational Driver's License. If you would like more information on ODLs, DL suspension notices and hearings, JP Court proceedings or Kemp DL suspension in general, please complete our DL Suspension Contact Form or speak with a representative at 817-685-0912.
