Why did I receive a Notice of Suspension?

The Texas Department of Public Safety (Texas DPS) will mail you a NOTICE OF SUSPENSION if your driver’s license is in danger of being suspended.  Some of the reasons your driver’s license may be suspended include receiving too many moving violation convictions, two or more no insurance convictions,  or a DWI.

WHEN do I ANSWER the Notice of Suspension?

Texas DPS must receive written notice requesting a hearing within 20 calendar days from the date that the Notice of Suspension was written.  When retained our office will mail and fax a letter of representation requesting a hearing on your behalf.

Where will my Suspension Hearing be held?

Texas DPS will set your case for a hearing in Justice of the Peace your driver’s license shows you reside in.

Do I have to appear at my Suspension Hearing?

In most courts you will not be required to appear with the Attorney at your Suspension Hearing.  If the Judge requires your appearance we will notify you via US mail.

What do I have to do after I hire your office?

We ask that once we are retained that you provide our office with a copy of your driving record.  It is also best that any surcharges be paid prior to your hearing.

How will I find out what happened?

Our office will mail you a letter via US mail with the outcome of your case.  Our letter will include any special instructions ordered by the Judge.
