Perhaps your driver's license has been suspended as a result of a serious traffic violation, or maybe because you were caught driving without a valid license. You should be aware that this is a serious traffic offense and can lead to incarceration, extended DL suspension and State Surcharges. At the Law Office of Attorney Jack Byno, we understand that it is your main goal to stay behind the wheel legally, and we may be able to do this by seeking you an Essential Need License. This temporary driver's license is equivalent to an Occupational Driver's License (ODL) and may be sought for you so that you may still transport yourself to work, school, and other necessary locations. For more information on Essential Need Licenses, please fill out our DL Suspension Contact Form.
If you are interested in applying for an Essential Need License, please be sure to provide us with the following:
Any necessary Court fees
In the case that our attorneys are successfully able to acquire you an Essential Need License, please keep in mind that the only locations you will be permitted to drive to are your place of employment, school, and the doctor's office. You may also only be allowed to drive at certain hours of the day. While you have an Essential Need License, you obviously want to be careful to avoid committing a traffic offense and getting pulled over by a police officer, but in the case that you are pulled over, be aware that you may be written a violation for Driving While License Invalid (DWLI). Be aware that DWLI may result in arrest, an extended DL suspension, up to $4,000 in Court fines and other consequences.
Would you like more information on how Jack Byno & Associates may be able to seek you an Essential Needs License in the Justice Court? Please complete our DL Suspension Contact Form, visit our FAQ page or give the law office a call at 817-685-0912.
