Your driver's license may be suspended because of overdue Athens traffic violations, No Insurance convictions on your driving record, Driving While Intoxicated (DWI), unpaid State Surcharges, and even medical revocation. Before your DL is suspended, you will receive a warning in the form of a Notice of Suspension, which the Texas Department of Public Safety (Texas DPS) will send you via mail. You will have a limited amount of days to respond to this suspension notice before your driver's license is actually suspended. At the Law Office of Attorney Jack Byno, we have been defending against Athens driver's license suspension and other traffic violations for more than 20 years. We may be able to represent you at your DL suspension hearing, or seek a temporary driver's license on your behalf if your regular license has by now been suspended. If you would like additional information on DL suspension, please fill out our DL Suspension Contact Form.
Be aware that if your driver's license has been designated for suspension by the Department of Public Safety, you will be notified beforehand. Do not panic if Texas DPS mails you a Notice of Suspension over traffic-related issues originating in Athens, Texas. Instead, get in touch with Jack Byno & Associates. We have been practicing Texas traffic law since 1994 and have more than enough experience when it comes to challenging DL suspension in the Henderson County Justice of the Peace Court. Upon receiving a DL suspension notice, you will have 20 days to request an Athens DL suspension hearing with DPS. This hearing will be held in the Henderson County JP Court and, if you decide to hire our law firm to represent you, your DL suspension will be challenged by our defense attorneys. DL suspension may occur for a number of possible reasons, from doctor recommendation to DWI, but if you are uncertain as to why your DL has been suspended, consider reviewing your Texas Driving Record.
If you have not responded to a Notice of Suspension before the 20 days allotted to you by DPS are up, and your driver's license has been suspended, you may now be having a hard time getting to the places you still require access to, such as school, work and the grocery store. In many cases, Jack Byno & Associates are able to obtain Occupational Driver's Licenses (ODLs) on behalf of clients who are no longer able to drive legally because of Athens DL suspension. An ODL, sometimes referred to as an Essential Need License, is a temporary driver's license that may be used while a regular DL is suspended.
Would you like for our law firm to attempt to obtain you an Occupational Driver's License? Before we are able to apply for an ODL on your behalf, we would require particular information from you, such as a copy of your Texas Driving Record, proof that you have car insurance, and your driver's license number. If we are able to apply for an ODL on your behalf, and you are granted one, you must be careful to follow any driving restrictions that may come with it. These temporary driving restrictions may include when and where you are allowed to drive. If you are pulled over by a police officer in Athens for breaking these restrictions, you may be charged with Driving While License Invalid (DWLI), which can result in an extended driver's license suspension, high court fines and even arrest.
If the Texas Department of Public Safety has mailed you a Notice of Suspension, or if your driver's license has already been suspended over outstanding Athens traffic violations, or for reasons including DWI conviction or unpaid State Surcharges, do not worry any more than you already have. Why not see if the Law Office of Attorney Jack Byno is able to dispute the suspension of your driver's license in the Henderson JP Court? In the case that your driver's license has already been suspended, our law firm may still be able to apply for an Occupational Driver's License (ODL) on your behalf. If you would like additional information on Essential Need Licenses, DPS DL suspension notices, or Athens DL Suspension in general, please complete our DL Suspension Contact Form or give our law office a call at 817-685-0912.
